AI may add 1% to India's annual power demand growth: ReNew CEO

ReNew CEO Sumant Sinha said on a podcast that India's electricity demand is already growing at 5-6% a year, and AI may add another 1% growth, which isn't difficult to meet. In contrast, US demand had not grown for years, and AI's sudden demand has pushed data centres to set up their own nuclear, geothermal or gas power, he said.
