Research by Harvard Business School studied the impact of generative AI on the work of middle managers. The study doesn’t suggest companies will eliminate middle managers altogether, but it does believe AI will allow firms to reduce the number of people in these roles. The technology will reduce the time middle managers spend coordinating and supervising workers.
