AI Tool improves heart disease detection using low-cost ECG

Columbia University researchers developed EchoNext, an AI tool that uses low-cost ECG data to detect structural heart disease more accurately than cardiologists. Trained on over 1.2 million ECG-echocardiogram pairs, EchoNext identified 77% of cases versus 64% by doctors, offering a promising, affordable screening method for early heart disease detection.
