US-based Imagen Technologies has developed an artificial intelligence (AI)-based diagnostic tool called OsteoDetect which can detect wrist fractures. Through machine learning, the algorithm identifies fracture regions as it scans the 2-D X-ray images of adult wrists and marks them for closer study. OsteoDetect has also received a permit for marketing by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
