The Union Health Ministry has approved a proposal for the construction of a 100-bed Burns and Plastic Surgery Block at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital in Delhi. Currently, only four Delhi hospitals (Safdarjung, Ram Manohar Lohia, Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan, and Deen Dayal Upadhyay) are equipped to treat burn patients, while AIIMS lacks the facility.
