The GST Council is likely to consider cutting tax on air and water purifiers for household use in its upcoming meeting, Business Standard reported. This comes amid worsening air pollution in several areas including Delhi-NCR and the uneven access to clean drinking water in the country. As per sources, the council may cut GST to 5% from 18%.
