Air India faced repercussions in a recent ruling by a Chandigarh consumer court, which held the airline responsible for providing defective seats and causing inconvenience to passengers on a New York to Delhi flight. The court awarded a compensation of Rs. 50,000 for mental agony and directed the airline to pay an additional Rs. 10,000 as litigation costs.
