Air India captain and crew overpowered hijacker who threatened to crash plane over Rome in 1974

An Air India Boeing 747 was hijacked near Rome on Christmas Day in 1974 after Czech-Canadian man passenger Josef Homolov entered cockpit with knife and claimed to have a bomb. He allegedly ordered the pilot to put the aircraft into a dive over Rome. Captain Ayodh Kapur and the crew overpowered him, before landing safely at Fiumicino Airport in Italy.
