Air India has appointed Captain Arvind Kathpalia, who was removed as Operations Director last November after failing two breath analyser tests before a New Delhi-London flight, as Regional Director (Northern Region). DGCA had suspended Kathpalia's flying licence for three years. He was previously suspended for three months in 2017 for refusing to take pre and post flight breath analyser tests.
