The temperature in and around the crashed Air India plane rose to around 1,000°C, which made the rescue operation extremely difficult, India Today said citing officials. Even dogs and birds at the site could not escape, the officials stated. Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah said 1.25 lakh litre fuel burned following the crash.
