Air India fined ₹1.10 crore by DGCA for safety violations

The DGCA has initiated enforcement action and imposed a penalty of ₹1.10 crore on Air India. The penalty was imposed over allegations of safety violations of flights operated by Air India on certain long-range terrain critical routes. Recently, IndiGo was fined ₹1.20 crore as passengers of its diverted flight were forced to eat food on Mumbai airport's tarmac.
