Air pollution costs India $411 million a day, says Greenpeace

Air pollution from burning fossil fuels is generating economic losses of $8 billion a day, a Greenpeace report said. China, US and India bear the highest economic cost of rising pollution, at an estimated $2.5 billion, $1.6 billion and $411 million a day, respectively. Fossil fuel pollution is potentially leading to 4.5 million premature deaths each year, Greenpeace added.
