The air quality in northwestern cities, including Noida and Gurugram, is expected to deteriorate after December 27 due to an approaching western disturbance, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). "When a western disturbance approaches, winds slow down, resulting in an accumulation of pollutants," IMD's Dr VK Soni said.
