Short-term tourists home-rental startup Airbnb has been sued by Paris over 1,000 illegal rental ads and faces a fine of $14 million, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said. France had passed a law in 2018 which makes companies punishable by fines of 12,500 euros per illegal posting.
