The government has appointed former Finance Secretary Ajay Seth as the chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), according to a government order. He will hold the post for three years. The post has been vacant since March 2025, following Debasish Panda's resignation. Notably, Seth is a 1987-batch IAS officer from the Karnataka cadre.
