Akanksha becomes Coal India's 1st woman engineer to work in underground mine

Jharkhand's Akanksha Kumari has become government-owned Coal India's first-ever woman mining engineer to work in an underground mine. She has been officially posted in Churi underground mines in the North Karanpura area of the Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a subsidiary of Coal India. A BIT Sindri graduate, she previously worked for three years in Hindustan Zinc's Balaria mines in Rajasthan.
