Workers and a security guard in South Mumbai averted a major tragedy at Peddar Road after a fire broke out in a tailor shop. Vijay Mandal and Prakash Mandal, workers at Sukh Shanti society, noticed smoke and alerted the watchman, Ghansham, who then informed society members. Riyaz Kanji, the shop owner, stated that clothes worth approximately ₹2.5 to ₹3 crore were burned in the fire.
