Algeria's parliament passed legislation declaring France's colonisation of the country a crime, stating that France has "legal responsibility for colonial past in Algeria and tragedies it caused". Further, Algeria demanded an apology and reparations. Crimes of the French rule include nuclear tests, extrajudicial killings, "physical/psychological torture" and "systematic plundering of resources".
