A Coimbatore court convicted all nine men accused of sexually assaulting several women in Tamil Nadu's Pollachi and sentenced them to life imprisonment. The convicts, who sexually assaulted at least nine women, were charged with rape, gang rape, blackmail and sexual harassment. They have been in judicial custody since their arrest in 2019. The crimes occurred between 2016 and 2018.
