Scientists have calculated that the combined mass of the 'technosphere', which defines all human-made things on the planet, weighs approximately 30 trillion tonnes. The 'technosphere', includes all human structures such as buildings, roads, and bridges, and also smaller items on the planet. The 30-trillion tonne mass spread across Earth's surface area would amount to over 50 kgs per square metre.
