The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways secretary V Umashankar, in an interview with Aaj Tak, said the government has decided to completely stop cash payments at toll plazas. From April 1, all tolls on national highways will accept only FASTag or UPI payments, he added. The move aims to make highway travel easier while saving time, fuel and money.
