The Allahabad High Court today stayed the Sambhal trial court proceedings in a suit which claimed that the Mughal-era Shahi Jama Masjid was built by demolishing a Hindu temple. The Court has now fixed the next date of hearing in the matter on February 25. It also directed all respondents, including the UP government, to file counter-affidavits within two weeks.
