Google-parent Alphabet's subsidiary Verily Life Sciences on Wednesday said it has laid off over 200 employees, or about 15% of its workforce, as it discontinued some programs. "We will advance fewer initiatives with greater resources," Verily said in a blog post. Separately, Alphabet's industrial robotics venture Intrinsic has also laid off 40 employees, a spokesperson told The Information.
