Amazon rainforest to get balloon-powered internet services

Google's parent company Alphabet's balloon-powered internet project Loon, which has been bringing internet to rural areas, will now provide internet in the Amazon rainforest region in Peru. The services will initially be provided in around 15% of the Peruvian Amazonia to around 2,00,000 people. Loon entered an agreement with Internet Para Todos Perú (IpT) which is partly owned by Facebook.
