Amazon-owned Zappos lays off over 300 employees: Report

Amazon subsidiary Zappos reportedly laid off more than 300 employees in January, or about 20% of its workforce. As per The Wall Street Journal, the job cuts were part of broader layoffs at Amazon that are expected to eliminate more than 18,000 employees. Amazon acquired Zappos, a Las Vegas-based online shoe and clothing retailer, for $1.2 billion in 2009.
