The total wealth of the Mukesh Ambani-led Ambani family, at ₹28.2 lakh crore, equals 1/12th of India's GDP, according to Hurun India's latest list. Additionally, a record 161 Indian families are now worth $1 billion or more, up from 37 last year. The country's 300 richest families employ a total of over 20 lakh people, more than population of Bahrain.
