American director Spike Lee becomes first black to lead Cannes jury

American director Spike Lee, known for films like 'Malcolm X' and 'Inside Man', was named the president of the 2020 Cannes Film Festival jury, making him the first black head of the panel. "I'm honoured to be...first person of...African diaspora (USA) to be named president of...Cannes jury," he said. Lee will succeed Mexican film director Alejandro González Iñárritu.
