Amitav Ghosh served as the 16th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, from January 15, 1985, to February 4, 1985, for a period of 20 days. Ghosh, who replaced Manmohan Singh, had served the shortest term as the apex bank's Governor​. Notably, Urjit Patel became the 24th Governor of RBI on Saturday.
