An urgent need for regional anti-venoms to cure snakebites

A new collaborative study identifies the need for regional and snake specific antivenoms. Red tailed pit viper, a deadly poisonous snake mostly found in the North-eastern regions does not have a potent anti-venom. The common anti-venom barely neutralises the toxin affect, requiring an immediate need for generating species specific venoms.
