Ancient Romans are known to have used urine to whiten their teeth. While they used animal and human urine, it is believed that they preferred Portuguese urine, as it was considered to be the strongest in the world. Urine is known to have cleaning properties as it decomposes into ammonia, which is used to make most cleaning products today.
