At Vijaya Vittala Temple, the Ranga Mandapa features 56 granite pillars that produce distinct musical notes when gently tapped. Built during the Vijayanagara Empire, these “musical pillars” remain an acoustic mystery. Today, only nine pillars are functional and strictly protected to preserve this remarkable architectural and scientific wonder.
