Andhra introduces policy to allow data centres to procure electricity on their own

Andhra Pradesh has introduced a policy allowing large data centres to operate as deemed power distributors through a Deemed Distribution Licence (DDL). Under the DDL framework, eligible data centres can buy electricity directly from generators or through open-access markets, reducing power costs. Data centres with a minimum connected load of 300 MW can qualify for DDL status.
