The Andhra Pradesh cabinet on Thursday approved the Health Department’s proposal to invite tenders for the design of a Universal Health Policy. Families below the poverty line will get annual insurance coverage of ₹2.5 lakh through insurance firms and an additional ₹25 lakh through a trust. Families above the poverty line will be eligible for coverage of ₹2 to ₹5 lakh.
