The Andhra Pradesh government issued an ordinance to increase the retirement age of government employees from 60 to 62 years. The ordinance will be effective from January 1, 2022. According to the government, the decision was taken "to utilise the experience and expertise of the senior employees and considering the increased life expectancy and improved health conditions".
