Avast researchers discovered a fraud campaign signing victims up for expensive premium SMS services without their knowledge through 151 Android apps. The apps, which were available on Google Play Store, amassed over 1 crore downloads from over 80 countries. Dubbed as 'UltimaSMS', the campaign tricked users into subscribing to premium SMS services by showing them ads in their local language.
