Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has announced a one-day ban on animal slaughter and the sale of meat within its jurisdiction on February 15 in view of Maha Shivaratri. The civic body stated that the measure is intended to respect the spiritual sentiments of devotees and maintain decorum during the festival. The GBA has urged businesses to comply with the directive.
