A woman identified as Preethi allegedly died by suicide due to dowry harassment. During the wedding, dowry in the form of 120 sovereigns of gold and ₹25 lakh in cash was reportedly given. Later, the husband’s family allegedly learned that Preethi’s ancestral property was to be sold for ₹50 lakh and began harassing her to obtain that money as well.
