Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei clarified that the AI startup, which has never released an open-weight AI model, has never called for a ban on such models. He noted that open AI models are a "public good" and don't cost anything besides compute. He did, however, call for a ban on chip sales to China and a crackdown on distillation operations.
