France has launched a phone number +33-176-498-498 which allows people all around the world to connect with a 'random' French person and talk to them in English. The number will connect to one of 1,800 ambassadors affiliated to French networks. The group behind the idea said its purpose was to help tourists enjoy France "through direct contact with French people.”
