Apatani women preserve traditional fish farming in Arunachal

In Arunachal Pradesh's Ziro Valley, Apatani women are preserving Aji-Nii, a centuries-old fish-cum-paddy farming tradition recognised by the FAO as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System. Making up nearly 80% of farmers, they play a key role in sustaining biodiversity, food security, and an eco-friendly agricultural practice that has thrived without chemical inputs for generations.
