A Canadian animal health technology company has developed an app that can tell whether a cat is feeling pain by using a smartphone's camera. The app, known as Tably, looks at a cat's ear and head position, eye-narrowing, muzzle tension, and how whiskers change, to detect distress. The app was trained using machine learning and a series of images.
