Apple acqui-hires ex-Google NotebookLM developers' AI startup

Apple has struck an acqui-hire deal with AI startup Huxe, founded by former Google NotebookLM (now called Gemini Notebook) developers. The deal allows Apple to hire certain Huxe employees and license its technology. It is Apple's at least fourth AI-related deal disclosed this year. Huxe app, which created personalised audio briefings from users' emails, shut down service in May 2026.
