Apple has started rolling out the Clean Energy Charging feature with its recent iOS 16.1 update to users in the US. Using this feature, iPhones try to reduce their carbon footprint by using forecast of carbon emissions in the user's local energy grid and charging when lower carbon-emission electricity is available. The feature also learns user's charging habits.
