Apple drops plans to lay off 5,000 employees: Report

Apple has scrapped plans to lay off about 5,000 AppleCare employees amid a broader efficiency drive by new CEO John Ternus, Bloomberg reported. The company is still considering smaller workforce cuts, budget reductions and fewer middle-management layers. Ternus is also exploring more frequent product launches and faster development, while seeking new revenue streams and growth opportunities.
