Apple removes Bitchat from India App Store after govt order

Apple has removed ex-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey's Bitchat from India App Store following a demand from central government, citing illegal content. Bitchat enables anonymous, offline messaging without internet, servers or accounts and was widely used during student-led protests in New Delhi. Earlier in July, government had ordered GitHub to restrict access in India to repositories hosting Bitchat.
