Around 14 people have been indicted for allegedly swapping counterfeit iPhones and iPads from China for genuine devices at Apple Stores throughout the US and Canada. The US Department of Justice said Apple conservatively estimates that the loss exceeds $6 million. The counterfeit devices were allegedly intentionally damaged to get genuine devices as replacements under warranty.
