Food expert Abin Mathew rates claims against palm-oil chips as 'mostly false'. The lipid overload, sodium content, and deep-frying process - not the nature of palm oil - are the main drivers of health risks such as high calories and fat intake. Palm oil itself, when consumed occasionally within a balanced diet, is not singled out as especially toxic.
