Around 400 Asian Games athletes, staff evacuated as record rain floods Nagoya within an hour

About 400 athletes and staff were evacuated from their accommodation in Nagoya after rainfall flooded parts of the Asian Games host city. Around 104 mm of rain fell in an hour on Tuesday and water leaked into competition venues. Nagoya Mayor Ichiro Hirosawa said that Asian Games would proceed as scheduled from September 19.
