Artificial sweeteners may harm future generations: Study

A study warned that common artificial sweeteners like sucralose and stevia may alter gene expression and potentially raise diabetes risk in future generations. The research, published in Frontiers in Nutrition, was conducted on mice. It also revealed changes in the gut microbiome, with fewer beneficial compounds and, particularly with sucralose, more disease-causing bacteria in the mice's faeces.
