Former Union Minister, economist, journalist Arun Shourie announced the release of his latest book, The New Icon. The book offers a “critical examination” of life and ideology of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the architect of Hindutva and a controversial figure in contemporary politics. Shourie a former minister in Vajpayee’s government, was a leading Hindu nationalist intellectual during that period.
